The Green Gold Mongolian Rangeland Research Center (GGMRRC) and the School of Animal Science and Biotechnology of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS) have agreed to establish a joint laboratory under their cooperation agreement, expanding their collaboration in scientific research, studies, and training in the field of pastoral livestock production.

The collaboration aims to promote the sustainable development of pastoral livestock production in the context of climate change, systematically assess opportunities to measure and reduce methane (CH₄) emissions from livestock, evaluate the carbon sequestration potential of rangeland ecosystems, and jointly implement experiments and research on the interactions between rangelands and livestock production.

Key Areas of Cooperation:

  • Conduct joint research on rangeland ecology and sustainable livestock management.
  • Develop methodologies for measuring and calculating greenhouse gas emissions from pastoral livestock and carbon sequestration in rangeland ecosystems.
  • Facilitate exchanges of specialists and researchers and organize joint training activities.
  • Share research findings, scientific knowledge, and practical experience.
